College Days...

Hello Friends, I am Aniket Joshi. I would like to tell u that, I am not big reader of books or i am not writer too, also i m not so good at grammar or in English. Here i am just trying to express my feelings about Engineering college life. this thought came in my mind when i saw "College Days" clip made by one of my friend Pushkar Kulkarni. After seeing that clip, i realized that it is very hard to forget those days which has made unforgettable impression in everyone's mind. So this is just an experiment and byproduct of watching that clip
College Days... when An Engineer utters this word i.e. college days... it has got a special meaning or we can say special unforgettable story behind it. It was 11:15 pm that day.. when i got a call from my brother Indraneel about my allocation through Cap round to Engineering College.. and that Govt College Engg Aurangabad.. I dont know why but in those days i was in impression that Govt engg colleges are good colleges for engineering n it has got some prestige over it. so each n everyday when i look towards our college, i could only see huge compound around our college and huge campus of our college. Govt college of Engg, Aurangabad. ( GECA ) is name of our college and its short form is GECA. Not only we but all those who are part of this institute in the past use this short form GECA as a slogan in various places so as to highlight as GECA students...
In my initial days at GECA , I was in IT dept but somehow I could find myself in Computer dept in third round.. From that day i was "comsa gem", this term is used for every student of our department whether he or she is gem or not dosen't matter.. :-) On the very first day in comsa dept i was punished for being late to the very first lecture. At that time i realized that, surviving in compsa dept is going to be difficult.. but after that lecture things were loosen..
In my first year, FE i had a small group of friends and those were actually my school friends(boys) n unable to find any other friendi(girls).. all of them were fresh for my eyes... ;-)
my FE went on very quickly, I mean before knowing much more about my dept n my classmates i was through to the SE of Engineering safely n sweetly with some close encounters with subjects like EEE, AS, EG-2, AM. Now i was in SE, its a great feel in engineering when someone calls you "senior". So we all were enjoying our new designations as senior students and were enjoying "Ragging"( teasing juniors). but the ragging was in certain limit as it is a serious crime nowadays..
In SE, our group of 3 extended to near abt 6 to 8 n we were enjoying every moment n every day at college n dept as it was new for us. We enjoyed a lot in freshers party which we arranged at Gymkhana club, Aurangabad. Actually that party help us a lot, to know each other and strech our friendship n grow our friendcircle.. It said that SE is the most difficult year in engineering as it has got wide range of difficult subjects like ppl,m4, dms etc.. so most of the students lose their momentum in SE n could not come back to their original track which they lost to. But almost every guy from our group n class entered in TE safely.
Now, TE was big challenge for us as it was very important year, because if u dont pass TE u won't get admission to BE i.e. final year. Immediately, every student from our class realized that he or she has not done any extracurricular activity which would help them in their campus recruitments. so everyone was searching for an opportunity to do better rather best in curricular activities. The main advantage of taking part in such activities was "Participation Certificate". Not only myself but every student was grabbing the opportunity to collect participation certificate. So we students took part in PPT, poster presetation competition, debate competition, GD competition, gathering competitions and many more like these...
In 2nd sem of TE, came the unforgettable days in Engineering i.e. campus recruitments
It was a big gamble for all the students, it was six or nix situation for everyone in GECA. The joys n sorrows on student's faces were unforgettable. those who succeed in making chairperson happy went up in air with joy n those who could not........ sorry i should write about them because i am not the person to right about them or i should say i dont have any authority to write about them. But i am sure, these are unforgettable days for me.
With a feather in our cap, we entered in our final year of engineering i.e. BE, where we have prove that we r "computer engineers" by giving seminars and doing "serious" project work. In every semester we had some files to be written in proper manner so that faculty can count on us with our term work. We call it as a "submission" which is a very exciting task. me and my classmates used to do it in a group by sitting in one class with mp3 player playing rocking music...This year our 2nd sem of BE was a bit hectic as our HOD made our lectures and practicals compulsary but it was great fun doing regular lectures too.
But at last The day came, which no one of us was waiting for i.e. "Signature day" or you can call it as Graffittee. On this day students write messages on t-shirts/tops. we also did the same thing by writing some good wishes or some teasers on t-shirts/tops n we exchanged good luck wishes amongst each other and the day ended in smiles on everyone's faces. but i know a deep sorrow of leaving friends, department and college was hidden behind that SMILE :-)
